18-year-old Gwen Taylor has lived a sheltered life being raised by her grandmother, and she never thought to question or rebel against her grandmother’s strict rules. At least not until she meets Ray, a college student who fills her head with dreams of a more ambitious life and her heart with deep desire for him. But she is still young and naïve, and when she makes the long drive to visit him, she is mortified to find him with another woman.

Fleeing the scene, Gwen suddenly spots someone standing in the middle of the road. She swerves and loses controls of her car, crashing into a tree. She hits her head and is knocked unconscious.

Upon waking up, Gwen not only finds herself in an unfamiliar place, a small shed in the woods, but also that she has amnesia. She can’t remember anything. Not even her own name. A man suddenly enters the shed. He introduces himself as Walter Sweeney. He tells Gwen that her name is Alice Sweeney, and that she is his wife.

Will Gwen ever recover her lost memories? Why did Walter lie to her? What other secrets is he keeping from her?
