Kendra is a typical fifteen-year-old girl who is desperate for a little more freedom from her overbearing mother, but on her first night being left alone in the house, her life is changed forever by a home invasion.

After the night of terror, Kendra’s mom moves them both back to the small town where she grew up. They move in with Kendra’s aunt, Cassandra, who is very nice and welcoming, but also immature and irresponsible. Despite having to deal with a sudden move and getting used to a new school where she doesn’t know anyone, Kendra finds herself starting to settle in and enjoy her new life . . . until she discovers that the man who broke into her house has found her once again.
